Sound Bath Meditation

Dive into deeper states of consciousness in this special restorative yoga a class with sound bath meditation.

Sound has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for achieving deeper meditative states.
Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to an alpha state (relaxed consciousness), and potentially even reach the theta state (meditative state) and/or the delta state (sleep) where internal changes can occur.

Simply put, sound meditation slows down your brain waves, which affect every cell in your body, moving us from a place of imbalance to a place of balance.

four Week Yamas & Niyamas Series

Have you ever been curious about the foundational principles of yoga philosophy, and how it applies to your practice?

In this workshop we will be taking a four week journey of exploration into the Yamas and Niyamas.

The Yamas (restraints) and Niyamas (observances) are ancient guidelines to right living, and provide the foundation for our yoga practice on and off the mat. They make up the first two limbs of the eight limbs of yoga.

During these four weeks we will spend time reading, discussing and journaling about the Yamas and Niyamas and end with a short flow that integrates what we have learned that week.

The book we will be reading and referencing is; “The Yamas and Niyamas: Exploring Yoga’s Ethical practice” by Deborah Adele.

This book brings to life these jewels of wisdom by using modern stories and metaphors that make the concepts accessible to the Western mind. It is a true joy to read and, through our exploration will provide you with tools that will benefit your yoga practice on and off the mat for years to come!

Purchase of the book is not necessary, but highly recommended, as you will find it a very useful tool to reference. You can buy it through Amazon or there will be several copies as well for the workshop.

Minimum of four to run the series, maximum of 10.
